Published: Thursday, January 14, 2010
MERRIMACK – The registration process for all Merrimack children entering public school kindergarten in the 2010-11 school year will begin with parents picking up registration packets at their neighborhood school Jan. 25-29 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Information pertaining to a school visit for students and informational session for parents will also be provided in the registration packet.
Registration materials for kindergarten students will be returned to their respective school from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5. Parents should bring completed registration forms and their child’s original birth certificate with a raised seal. Parents must also present their child’s immunization record at the time of registration. They will be notified at this time whether their child needs further immunizations.
To be eligible for kindergarten registration, a child must be 5 by Sept. 30. All students registering for public school for the first time are required by state law to have a physical examination by a licensed physician. This exam must take place within one year prior to the first day of school. The child is also required to be immunized before entering school. The month, day and year are required for all immunizations. Have your child’s medical record completed and returned to school by Aug. 6.
The Nashua Public Health Department has immunization clinics for young children every week. Immunizations are available for a small fee. The center is located at 18 Mulberry St. in Nashua. Call 589-4510 for the clinic schedule and directions.
