Hudson accepting school registration

Published: Thursday, January 14, 2010

HUDSON – Parents of children who will be entering kindergarten or first grade in the Hudson School District in September are invited to visit www.sau81.org for registration. Students currently enrolled in the Hudson School District kindergarten program do not need to register.

Parents can begin the registration process at home prior to attending in-person registration. If you have already opened a “family account” online, you need to “add a child.” Your completed paperwork will be waiting for you when you come to registration. Computers will also be available at in-person registration.

In-person registration will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 4-7 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 15, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at all elementary schools.

To be eligible for kindergarten in September, a child must be 5 on or before Sept. 30. For first grade, children must be 6 by Sept. 30.

A birth certificate must be provided to register for school. Proof of residence (current property tax bill, utility bill, rent receipt, etc.) is also required. Parents must register their children in the attendance zone in which they reside.

Each child is required to meet specific medical standards before entering first grade, including a current physical examination and up-to-date immunizations. Parents should bring their child’s current immunization record to the registration.

For more information, contact Hills Garrison Elementary School at 881-3930, Library Street Elementary School at 886-1255 or Nottingham West Elementary School at 595-1570.
