Hollis athlete heading to U.S. junior curling championship

HOLLIS – Katie Annand, of Hollis, will be going with her curling team to the United States Junior National Curling Championship in Bemidji, Minn., from Jan. 22-30.

The team recently came in second out of six teams in the GNCC play downs in Rochester, N.Y. They played against teams from Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

Annand began curling at the Nashua Country Club in the Little Rocks and Junior program. The sport of curling has been played for more than 75 years at the Nashua Country Club.
