Hollis holding school registration night

HOLLIS – Hollis Primary School will be holding a registration evening Thursday, Jan. 28, from 4-7 p.m. for incoming 2010-11 for preschool, kindergarten and first-grade students. In the event of inclement weather, registration will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Preschool registration will be held from 4-6 p.m. The Hollis Early Learning Program has both a 3-year-old program and a 4-year-old program and runs four days a week, Monday through Thursday. The 3-year-old class meets from 8:50-10:50 a.m., and the 4-year-old program from 11:30-2 p.m. Preschoolers must be 3 by Sept. 30 to be eligible for the 3-year-old class and 4 by Sept. 30 to be eligible for the 4-year-old class. Registration for HELP is limited and will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
To assist in the process, bring proof of Hollis residency, official birth certificate and immunization log. The physical exam form included in the packet must be completed prior to their date of entry.
Kindergarten and first-grade registration will be held from 5-7 p.m. Children must be 5 by Sept. 30 to be eligible for kindergarten and 6 by Sept. 30 for first grade. The school provides bus service for morning students for 8:15 a.m. arrival and for evening students at the 3:05 p.m. dismissal. Kindergarten sessions run from 8:23-11:15 a.m. for the morning session and 12:05-3:05 p.m. for the afternoon session. During registration, you will have a chance to indicate your preference for the a.m. or p.m. session.
There is also an Extended Day Kindergarten session. All kindergarten students will be screened in the spring to determine if they qualify for attendance in this class. Those students placed in the Extended Day program will attend that class 8:23 a.m.-12:05 p.m. and remain at Hollis Primary School for an afternoon session of kindergarten.
All registration forms will be available at www.hollis.k12.nh.us and in the Hollis Primary School office, beginning Friday, Jan. 22, for incoming kindergartners and first grade students not currently attending the school. Complete all registration forms prior to registration night.
