HOLLIS – The Hollis/Brookline High School FIRST Robotics Team 1073 The Force is hosting a Qualifying FIRST LEGO League Competition on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the HBHS gym from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Approximately 20 teams from New Hampshire and Massachusetts will be competing in this multi-faceted event during the course of the day. The students range in age from 9 to 14.
The key to this year’s “Smart Move” Challenge is accessing people, places, goods and services in the safest, most efficient way possible. In this journey, teams will consider many modes of transportation beyond their daily routine and streamline their options by making smart moves.
This is an exciting day of competition as LEGO-based robots compete on a 4-foot-by-8-foot table, trying to accomplish defined tasks to gain points. Additional points are gained in separate judged areas such as teamwork, technical design and presentation.
All local residents are welcome to attend. There is no admission fee for the public.
