MONT VERNON – Gay marriage, budgets and fire trucks dominated Town Meeting on Tuesday night for the more than 100 residents who showed up at Mont Vernon Village School. In elections during the day, voters returned Town Clerk Jeannette Vinton to her job in the only contested race in the school or town.

AMHERST – Voters on Tuesday filled an open, uncontested Amherst School Board seat with more than 200 write-in votes for longtime resident Lucienne Foulks, who will join incumbent Peg Bennett, who ran unopposed. Voters also approved the district’s proposed $23.
Savoy agrees to hindering charges

A Hollis man pleaded guilty to hiding evidence and concocting an alibi for two men charged with killing a Mont Vernon mother during an October home invasion. Autumn Savoy, 20, of Hollis, has agreed to testify for the state and plead guilty to his alleged role in the aftermath of the crime.

LYNDEBOROUGH – Firefighters from Lyndeborough and surrounding towns are at the scene of a reported propane truck rollover on Tarn Road, a small residential area off of Salisbury Road. It’s not yet clear whether the truck is damaged or if there was propane leaking, but early reports stated the driver, a man in his 40’s, was out of the truck and apparently uninjured.

CONCORD – Two of the five men young men charged in connection with the killing of a woman and an attack on her daughter inside their Mont Vernon home are expected to waive their court appearances next week. Lawyers say 18-year-old Steven Spader and 20-year-old Christopher Gribble, both of Brookline, will instead enter pleas of “not guilty” on paper to first-degree murder and other charges in the Oct.
