NASHUA – The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua recognized capital campaign donors whose generosity spans four decades at an event attended by more than 100 donors. Norm Bouthilette, the CEO, and Andy Dillman, president of the board, thanked the guests for their generosity to the 2009 campaign, which raised $4.

(Nashua, NH) – To help local working individuals and families attain financial stability, the Greater Nashua Asset Building Coalition (GNABC) is offering free income tax preparation at four area locations beginning this Saturday, January 30th. Volunteers trained by the IRS and AARP will assist filers with preparing their 2009 federal income tax returns and help determine whether they qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

With the Nashua School District suffering tremendous budget cuts because of the $6 million deficit, Nashua High School South senior Chris Crawford is stepping up and making a change. Crawford started the Save our Schools Plan not to solve all of the problems in the 2011 budget, but as an attempt to offset damaging cuts by even a small degree.

NASHUA - A pre-dawn fire Sunday appeared to have destroyed an historic Pine Street building that housed a private social club, a convenience store and seven apartments. The fire appeared to have gutted the second and third levels of a 1900s building at 45 Pine St.

BOSTON – The Telegraph and its affiliated weekly newspaper, The Cabinet, won top honors at the New England Newspaper and Press Association’s annual better newspaper awards banquet Saturday night at the Park Plaza in Boston. The Telegraph was awarded first place in general excellence in the small daily newspaper category, while The Cabinet won first place for general excellence in the large weekly category.

Before they can take the field or skate out on the rink, many New Hampshire student- athletes and their families are being asked to shell out a fee to help cover the cost of school district sports. Commonly referred to as pay-to-play, roughly one-third of high schools across the state have implemented some type of fee for students who choose to play sports, especially those with a higher per-player cost, said Patrick Corbin, director of the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association.
