Cell phones have improved interactions among all people regardless of distances, but these devices have also become a distraction in high schools.

Before they can take the field or skate out on the rink, many New Hampshire student- athletes and their families are being asked to shell out a fee to help cover the cost of school district sports. Commonly referred to as pay-to-play, roughly one-third of high schools across the state have implemented some type of fee for students who choose to play sports, especially those with a higher per-player cost, said Patrick Corbin, director of the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association.

HUDSON – There was a lot of discussion but no action, as voters didn’t change any of the school district’s spending proposals Saturday at its Deliberative Session. The five proposed spending items that would finance next school year and pay teachers, paraprofessionals and other district employees will now face an up-or-down vote on the town election ballot next month.
