Have a Heart

NASHUA – The Humane Society for Greater Nashua hopes you’ll “Have A Heart” and support the pets awaiting adoption. Every February at local retailers, schools and businesses, paper hearts are available for a minimum purchase of $1. Donors can write their own name or a name of a pet on the hearts, which are displayed in stores from now until the end of February. All monies collected from the sales of these hearts will help the shelter care for the thousands of homeless pets it receives each year.

HSFN is also looking for businesses to be new Have A Heart locations. Call Natalie at 889-BARK (2275), ext. 27, or e-mail natalie@hsfn.org to have a kit delivered. The business that raises the most money will be featured with a staff photo in the Humane Society’s Annual Report, on the HSFN home page and will receive an engraved photo plaque. In 2009, Wingate’s Pharmacy was the top store location selling $703 worth of hearts.
