Restaurant’s staff gives Tips for Toys

Published: Monday, December 28, 2009

HUDSON – On Dec. 7, the waitstaff and bartenders at the Hudson T-Bones collected all their tips to purchase much-needed items for area youth that will be provided to the Salvation Army for distribution. Their donation totaled $4,263, exceeding their goal of $4,000.

This unique event was started by the employees 15 years ago and has become an annual event. This is now a holiday tradition not only for the waitstaff but for many of the loyal customers that plan to dine on that day and give generously in order to help those in need. The waitstaff not only donates all their tips but also then shops for all the gifts, which include clothing and toys for children 18 and younger.

Tom Boucher, owner and CEO of T-Bones and Cactus Jack’s, was so impressed by the efforts of the Hudson T-Bones staff that he announced that the owners would match the amount donated by the waitstaff. That brought the total donation to $8,526, representing one of the largest local donations to the Salvation Army.

The Hudson T-Bones is at 77 Lowell Road.
