LYNDEBOROUGH – Districts 5 and 6 of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs New Hampshire met Oct. 31 in Lyndeborough. Members from Clubs in Windham, Wilton, Lyndeborough, Salem, Nashua, Hudson, Hollis and Brookline attended. Phyllis Appler, director of Districts 5 and 6, convened the meeting.
Kathy Lizotte, neonatal intensive care social worker at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, was the morning speaker. She expressed concern for families of limited means that could not afford to buy car seats, which are required to take babies home. Car seats are not reusable and cannot be resold. Because of the economy, more families have been affected. Districts 5 and 6 Woman’s Clubs donated funds for infant seats, as well as many other preemie layette items.
The luncheon was provided by the Wilton/Lyndeborough Woman’s Club. Free apple cider from an on-site cider press was provided by the Grzyb family of Brookline.
