HUDSON – The St. Vincent de Paul Society provides food and financial assistance for medicine, fuel and daily living expenses to Hudson residents in need. Many families will not be able to celebrate the holidays without assistance.
This year is especially busy. At the end of October, the society already had 114 requests for Thanksgiving food baskets and 126 requests for Christmas food and gift baskets.
The food pantry is visited by most families on a regular basis. Since January, the society has provided 60,855 meals to the families who visit the food pantry.
A great way to help the pantry serve the community is by visiting the historic Hills House on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Each room of the house will be decorated by area florists, including Tsubaki Florists, Flowers on the Hill and Anne’s Country Florals, and by members of the historical society.
Admission is a new toy or non-perishable food item to benefit St. Vincent de Paul, a non-denominational organization.
