Garden club discusses herbs

MILFORD – Rosemary goes great with chicken, but did you know that it may help stave off Alzheimer’s disease? Or that sage can help with hot flashes?
Come to the next meeting of the Milford Garden Club and learn surprising ways that common culinary herbs and companion plants can help keep your family healthy. Speaker Maria Noel Groves is a clinical herbalist based in Allenstown. She is a former editor of the Natural Health journal and regular contributor to Herb Quarterly with more than 12 years experience in the field.
The meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 2, at the First Congregational Church Parish House, 10 Union St. The business meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. with the speaker following at 10:30 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
