Funds remain in MHS class accounts

MILFORD – Did you graduate from Milford High School in 1979, 1984, 1985, 1988 or 1993?

These classes have small funds from their graduating class remaining in the Student Activity Fund that can be used for upcoming reunions. The class officers need to contact Diane Smith at 673-4201, ext. 3224, for more information. After Dec. 1, all funds unclaimed will revert to a student benefit account.

CareGivers receive grant from Fidelity

BEDFORD – The CareGivers Inc. of Bedford received a grant from Fidelity Investments to support technology improvements to the organization’s newest program, The CareGivers Caring Cupboard.

The donation, which was used to modernize and upgrade the computer, phone and software systems used to coordinate the program, will increase the organization’s efficiency in their efforts to meet the needs of their clients.

The mission of The CareGivers is to help the frail, elderly and disabled maintain their independence and dignity through the spirit of volunteerism.

The Caring Cupboard program was established in 2008 and acts as a mobile food pantry. It is run almost entirely by trained volunteers who take individualized grocery orders from clients and then package the items for delivery. Business teams from the community then deliver the free food on a monthly basis to clients’ homes throughout Greater Manchester and Nashua. By the end of 2009, The CareGivers will be equipped to deliver 65 tons of food annually, a value of approximately $250,000. Expansion plans are in the works for the continued growth of this vital program.
